Let’s Talk About Goals And Dreams…

G’ Day Marketers,

Today I felt like doing what my mentor sometimes does. He likes to ramble and talk, basically just get things out of his head and onto paper, so you can see what he things and thus you can be more like him. Tonight I want to get some of this stuff out of my head and onto this page. So here goes.

Since starting my online journey I have come a long way. I didn’t know anything, in fact I didn’t have a clue about how to make money online, but I had some goals and I had a desire to make it happen.

Here are some of the original goals I had.

1. Make more money then what we spent. (While I was studying my PhD, we were spending more than I was making on my scholarship just to keep us alive).
2. Work fulltime on my online business.
3. Make my dream salary of AUD$50,000/year (USD$37,000)

That’s it. They weren’t very inspiring goals but that is what I started with and that is what I was aiming for.

Well almost a year ago, I completed goal number 1 and seven (7) months ago number 2 and 3 were reached at the same time.

But I didn’t stop there…. I added more goals, I even took my mentors financial goal.

I said to myself “Well, if I can make $4,000/month let’s see if I can reach my mentor’s goal of USD$10,000/month.”

On December I reached that goal, and on January I transferred from my Paypal account in pure profit $12,000/month.

But I didn’t stop there….. I added more goals, I didn’t want to limit myself to financial goals I also wanted even more ‘freedom’ goals. One of the big ones was that since my wife got sick thus giving me the motivation to quit my PhD and work fulltime online, I have been doing most of the housework. Now I love my wife and I would do anything for her, but there is one thing I hate and that is ‘housework’. I just hate cleaning. So on January around New Years, I set a goal of finding a house cleaner to do all the work for me.

Well even though I could afford it, I never did go through with it until I talked to another Aussie, Quentin Brown, and as we were arranging a phone interview, he said, “We can’t do it now, our house cleaner is just about to vacuum.” Well my ears, pricked up and I said to him “YOU HAVE A HOUSE CLEANER?” and from that very moment I decided to advertise for one ASAP. Well it wasn’t till I had to clean the house (3 days later) that I had enough and I immediately designed this advertisement to put up on our local community board.

House Keeper Wanted

Well… last Monday I put that advertisement up… that night a lady rang, and the next day we arranged an interview and to cut a long story short, on Friday she did awesome job transforming our lounge room into something, that I didn’t feel embarrassed about bringing friends to. BUT… I was busy doing a business portrait that day but she said to my wife, “Your husband’s advertisement really did stick out from everything else out there.” My wife said “Well he is an internet marketer” ;-) See these skills are also good for real life as well ;-).

But that’s not all, I also have some other bigger goals as well.

1. Travel - especially to see my brother and personal assistant (Corena) in America. We are planning to go at the end of this year.
2. Buy a black BMW (I don’t know what it is about them… but they look awesome to me and I want one of those fancy toys). I looked at the prices last night and though $50,000 is not really a lot of money any more the thought of spending my complete mortgage on a depreciating item does not really appeal to me at the present time.
3. Earn $100,000/month from online ventures.
4. Earn enough money so that I can write a $1,000,000 tithe check to my church. I can see myself actually writing on it the 6 zero’s and signing my name even though I haven’t written one check in my whole life.

Considering that I have reached all my previous goals, these latest ‘big’ goals will be reached as well. It is all a matter of time and mindset. When I quit my PhD 7 months ago, $10,000/month was too much for me to imagine… and now I am making more than that. 7 months ago, I didn’t think I would be employing two personal assistants, 3 coders, 3 writers, 1 audio guy and 1 house cleaner. These things were too much for me to imagine… but now they are my reality.

This new day, this new week, this year…. you have a choice.

You can choose to live your life as you have always done or you can choose to do the things and reach the goals which you have only ever imagined.

It is all a matter of time and mindset.

You have time… do you have the mindset?

The time is now…. what do you need to do to get the things that you want?

Make it happen… I believe in you because you can do anything.

Sincerely,
